Job Description :

This General Counsel position provides advice, counsel and legal support to the President and Site Manager and his or her management team responsible for performing the DOE National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) contract for the Management and Operations of the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS).

If the contract is awarded to Lockheed Martin, the company will perform the contract at the government-owned contractor-operated M&O national security site in support of testing of the weapons stockpile. The scope of work of this contract includes site-wide management and operations, mission management, infrastructure management and maintenance, asset management, information technology, environment, safety and health, and business functions. The General Counsel will provide all necessary legal support to the company’s efforts to perform and integrate all operational, coordination, and management functions at the NNSS and satellite facilities required to support NNSA and broader national security missions assigned to the facilities.

The General Counsel will support the execution of the company’s contract obligations to NNSA and ensure compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws rules and Note that this position is conditioned on the award by the U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to Lockheed Martin of the contract for the Management and Operations of the Nevada National Security Site. It is anticipated that the NNSA will make the contract award in or about Summer 2016.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a law degree from an accredited law school, and must be a member in good standing of a United States state bar association and licensed to practice law. Individual must have experience in and proven ability in providing day-to-day legal advice and counsel with an orientation toward providing practical solutions as a member of a senior business team.
