We are in search of that unique individual who is eager to grow and learn through hard work and providing excellent legal support services to our internal clients. The successful candidate for this role will gain experience in contracts law, contracts drafting, risk management, negotiation, and practical applications of the law in our fast-paced, quickly growing world class in-house legal department.

This role will be based in the home office in Vienna, VA and is a hybrid/remote opportunity.

Job Summary

We seek a recently graduated lawyer to train and practice as a generalist to assist our Legal Team as it grows. This role can be defined by the successful candidate, who can shape and mold processes, workflow, templates and related concepts with the opportunity to have ownership in many different matters. It has exceptional growth potential as we grow our in-house legal team, acquire more optometry offices and other locations, working to build a first-class operation. This role will have a hands-on opportunity to work on many different legal matters in a wide variety of contracts in deals, acquisitions, employment agreements, risk management and other areas. We seek a junior attorney whom we can train on our processes templates and contract management system to support us in building our larger and more robust legal department. The team currently consists of 15 professionals across various specialties to include deals, employment, real estate, regulatory and other specialties. This role will support across many of those different fields. This is a great opportunity to be in a growing and dynamic company and for a recently graduated lawyer to gain experience in many different areas of law.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


• Draft various healthcare-focused agreements which include optometrist and related healthcare service agreements and deal documents

· Draft correspondence and amendments to existing agreements

· Assist with document management systems, cloud-based library and storage systems for contract lifecycle management

· An in-depth understanding of Word, Excel and related document processing tools

· Assist with agreement terms such as payment terms, non-compete restrictions and related items

· Work directly with field operators to obtain drafting guidance

· Help organize agreement review process and maintain tracking sheets

· Manage outside counsel as required

· Own and draft template agreements for healthcare professionals

· Assist with research and analysis on federal privacy, data, and anti-kickback statutes

· Limited regional travel required

Work Experience

· Entry-level attorney position, optimal for recent graduates and those who want to work in drafting, negotiation and risk management in a growing and complicated business model

Education & Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from ABA Approved School, passage of a State Bar Exam and in good standing

· Ability to gain Corporate Counsel designation with Virginia Bar

· Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills (drafting is a key requirement for the role)

Working Conditions

· Salary offers will be highly competitive with current market rates for this role.

· Travel up to 10% of the time may be required

· Access information using a computer

· Effectively communicate and exchange information with others and lead as needed, driving results with management

· Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential

· Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. and move about an office setting

· This position is performed in a traditional office environment at the Home Office in Vienna, VA
