Role Overview:
Our Legal team is growing! We are looking for a nimble and tech-savvy Senior Counsel to support our rapidly growing business. In this new role, you will play a key role in building Legal within Homebound. You will collaborate and coordinate with cross functional business partners to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team. You will also be advising on a wide array of legal issues ranging from day to day construction issues to regulatory compliance. You will ultimately be part of a rapid growing Legal team and report to our VP of Legal.

What You'll Do:

• Provide compliance expertise and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to oversee existing operational and financial processes aimed at mitigating risks and complying with applicable investor and lender requirements
• Draft, prepare, and templatize legal documents, including trade partner agreements, construction agreements, sales agreements, and any other documents related to real estate transactions
• Assist in the administration of Homebound’s insurance and risk mitigation programs, including the maintenance and renewal of insurance policies
• Provide day-to-day guidance and legal support to business partners on matters including, but not limited to, procurement, insurance, and employment
• Supervise and work with outside counsel where appropriate on particular matters
• Support legal on special corporate projects and transactions including mergers and acquisitions and strategic financings
• Build and develop training within the organization on a variety of legal topics, with a focus on commercial contract matters

What You'll Bring:

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar is required
• 4+ years of legal experience (with at least two years at a law firm)
• Strong writing and oral communication skills
• Willingness and ability to roll up your sleeves and jump right in to support the team
• Effective organizational skills and ability to juggle many competing priorities
• A team player that is detail-oriented and business-friendly with an ability to accommodate tight deadlines in an evolving and fast-paced environment
• Understanding of contract basics and a desire and willingness to learn
• Experience in real estate and construction is a plus
