Job Summary

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a leading global company as Corporate Counsel with reporting responsibility directly to the Company’s U.S. Vice President General Counsel. The Corporate Counsel will provide important legal support to the U.S. parent company as well as each of its U.S. operating subsidiaries, in a fast-paced, but collegial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiating, writing and executing agreements and contracts on behalf of the company
  • Offering counsel on employment law matters and on a variety of legal issues
  • Advising executives within the company
  • Working alongside other departments within the company
  • Advising on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals
  • Experience with compliance topics, including but not limited to OSHA, PCI, regulatory, and/or trade compliance
  • Researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company
  • Provide training to the company on legal topics

Key Requirements

  • Degree from a recognized university
  • Admission to New Jersey bar (or corporate or eligibility to apply for and accomplish in-house certification in NJ)
  • Minimum two to three years of relevant law firm or in-house experience with a major firm
  • Superior work ethic and high-energy individual
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
  • Sound negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues
  • Strong attention to detail, well organized and able to manage numerous projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to learn diverse business requirements quickly, analyze legal and commercial risks and propose strategic, business-oriented solutions
  • Hands-on experience in variety of corporate matters
  • Positive attitude and willing to tackle wide range of routine to complex projects in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
