WittKieffer is assisting Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) based in Cincinnati, Ohio in recruiting candidates for their Associate General Counsel, Research.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Legal and Public Affairs & Chief Legal Officer, the Associate General Counsel, Research is responsible for providing legal expertise related to sponsored research, research innovation, corporate research compliance and conflict of interest program as well as supporting policies and procedures. The Associate General Counsel, Research will also collaborate on research policy initiatives, research compliance and integrity as well as research innovation with other attorneys and key leadership. The Associate General Counsel, Research is a highly strategic and proactive legal counsel that is well versed in the regulatory environment of healthcare research. This individual is innovative in creating solutions that facilitate CCHMC's overall research strategy and operations to assure adherence and conformity with policies and regulations. This person will serve as the primary person for research related legal and regulatory matters and further position CCHMC as the model of compassionate care working hand-in glove with groundbreaking scientific research to save children's lives.

This position will be supporting the organization either based in Cincinnati, virtually, working out of a home office environment and attending meetings at CCHMC sites as required, or a hybrid model. The successful candidate must have excellent academic credentials, a law degree from an ABA accredited school of law, and membership in a State Bar. Admission to practice law in Ohio is preferred but bar membership from a state outside of Ohio that will allow for in-house registration with the Ohio Supreme Court is acceptable. In addition, candidates will possess an outstanding record of achievement with at least five (5) years of legal expertise related to healthcare research gained in-house or through working closely with complex healthcare or life sciences clients. Specific experience working in or representing a university, an academic medical center, research foundation, medical device manufacturer or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
