Senior Counsel, Legal & Risk Management

This is a Senior-level Legal Counsel position at PAREXEL which is primarily responsible and accountable for support of the Company’s Operational units including, Clinical Research and Development, Regulatory and Quality. This position will provide legal advice and counsel to the Company’s strategic business units (SBUs) and functional units. He or she will manage risks through counseling and the implementation and practical application of Company policies, processes and procedures, as well as drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts.

The ability to understand risks, balance competing interests, and provide appropriate advice is critical to success for this position. He or she will participate in and contribute to the development and on-going review of relevant processes, guidelines and procedures. The work requires cross-functional and SBU collaboration within the Company. This is a client-facing position. It is expected that the Senior Counsel will establish productive relationships with our clients and business partners and foster a client-centric approach to problem solving while adhering to Company policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

Responsible for supporting the Company by applying expertise in the areas of Clinical Research and Development, Regulatory and Quality.

Work as a trusted advisor to the Company by providing expert-level legal advice and support to SBU and functional unit senior management regarding operational matters.

Lead and oversee team members on management of cross-functional legal issues that impact delivery of client projects.

Maintain a positive, results-orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner.

Undertake the full range of duties to ensure performance meets and/or exceeds the Company’s goals and objectives.

Take a leadership role in the on-going review and development of Company policies, processes and procedures.

Manage risks through counseling and practical application of Company policies, processes and procedures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have deep clinical operations and regulatory expertise, substantial experience supporting global clinical trials, outstanding legal and business acumen, excellent leadership and customer service skills, and a positive “can-do” attitude.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:10-15 years’ experience as an attorney, including in-house experience with a global pharmaceutical company, CRO or related industry and law firm training (large multi-national law firm preferred).
