We are looking for a talented Corporate Counsel to support our intellectual property efforts in our rapidly growing and evolving company. Counsel will support the Amazon Registry Services business on all compliance matters. Counsel will provide day-to-day advice; create and implement internal and customer-facing policies around compliance with our gTLD Registry Agreements and ICANN’s policies; manage inquiries, notices, and audit requests and our responses to them; and oversee the implementation of any applicable regulatory compliance requirements in the registry business. Counsel will provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of areas relating to intellectual property, including contractual relationships, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, have a sense of humor, be business minded and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of legal experience (with at least two years at a law firm), with focused experience in specialized IT contracts and/or the domain name and DNS space

· Familiarity with ICANN, compliance, domain names, and the naming space

· A J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar

· Some travel may be required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· In house experience at technology company

· A well-rounded background in compliance issues and domain name law

· Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor
