Associate General Counsel, Commercial Transactions

Job Description

Facebook seeks a highly-motivated, detail-oriented team player to serve as Associate General Counsel to support its commercial transactions. You will be drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, including sports partnerships, content licensing agreements, platform integrations, and other commercial technology transactions. You will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial transactions and general operations. Diligent and proactive, you have demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment and strategic thinking, along with the ability to work independently.

This is a full-time position and is located in our New York office.


Contract drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities for Facebook's global business development, sports, video, and other platform teams.

Provide strategic business and legal advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with key partners.

Commercial transaction support for other departments as required.

Administration and resolution of legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar

5+ years of experience, including prior in-house experience, with sports leagues, media, internet, or technology companies and/or at a top tier law firm

Experience with social networking, platform integrations, sports, and media

Experience negotiating strategic transactions

Candidates must be willing to work extended hours when necessary to complete projects

Domestic and international travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications

Membership in NY or CA state bar

Experience providing nuanced and practical counseling to sports organizations, internet companies with video products and services offered to consumers, with international experience

Experience negotiating audiovisual programming and licensing agreements

Working knowledge of media-focused technology and sports businesses
