The St Louis Fed is one of 12 Reserve Banks serving all or parts of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas with branches in Little Rock, Louisville and Memphis. Overview

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis has an immediate opening for a Senior Attorney in its Legal Division. As a Senior Attorney, you will report to the General Counsel and work closely with the Legal Division’s Vice President and other attorneys.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include performing research; provide counsel to business clients on emerging legal issues; and, providing legal advice and training to management and staff in the following practice areas:
  • Serve as an expert for:
    • Intellectual property and technology
    • Privacy and data protection
  • Procurement matters, including drafting contracts
  • Banking laws and regulations
  • General corporate matters
  • Reserve Bank and Federal Reserve System operations and policies
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Mentor more junior staff
  • Lead staff training regarding legal and ethics issues and law enforcement officer training
  • Manage litigation
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an ABA accredited law school, and has practiced law in at least one state; admission to Missouri Bar preferred
  • 8+ year’s relevant legal experience as an attorney in a law firm or as in-house counsel
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong analytical, research and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others at all levels of an organization
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower job grade or salary
  • Travel (5%)
