Accertify is growing, and we are hiring for the role of Chief Employment Counsel to join the Legal team.

How will you make an impact in this role?
The role of Chief Employment Counsel will consist primarily of collaboration with the General Counsel, Human Resources department, and senior business leadership on all employment-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development of policies and processes regarding employee conduct, discipline, employee evaluation, and equity issues
  • Day-to-day management of the employment and ethics complaints process, including risk assessment, issue resolution, and proactive issue prevention.
  • Serving as a first-line resource for business leaders regarding recruiting, discipline, and termination, including developing training or other education for team leads.
  • Demonstrating strategic thinking about process improvement, efficiency, and skills development for the business at large.
  • Manage relevant outside counsel within budgetary guidelines to obtain desired results
​Qualifications:
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice in Illinois, U.S., or qualified to become licensed in Illinois
  • 6+ years of relevant legal experience in employment and labor law
  • 4+ years of experience drafting employment policy and employment-related templates
  • Able to explain complex legal and business issues in business-friendly guidance.
  • Comfortable working in a small, collegial team of seasoned attorneys and legal managers.
  • Strong credibility, judgment, and integrity.
  • Able to own work streams from inception through resolution.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under time constraints
  • Spanish, French, or Hindi language fluency (preferred).
  • Extensive experience with US and global employment regulations
Additional Details:
  • Location: 2 Pierce Place, Suite 900, Itasca, IL 60143
  • Workplace Flexibility: Hybrid (3 days in-office per week)
  • Travel: 5 to 10% travel
  • Potential base salary range: $210-235,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
  • Visa Sponsorship: employment eligibility to work for Accertify in the U.S. is required, as Accertify will not pursue Visa sponsorship for this position.
