The Role

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our legal team in New York. This is a commercially focused, in-house role where you will act as a key legal partner to the business, supporting project delivery teams and advising on complex contractual and risk-related matters.

You will play a critical role in negotiating and structuring project agreements, managing legal risk, and enabling the successful delivery of construction and design & build projects across the U.S. This position offers strong exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence decision-making in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of project contracts, including design & build, construction, and consultancy agreements
  • Provide legal advice on contract strategy, risk allocation, and commercial terms across projects
  • Partner closely with project delivery and commercial teams to support project execution
  • Advise on dispute avoidance and resolution, including claims and contractual matters
  • Support the business across construction, real estate, and broader commercial legal matters
  • Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal processes
  • Proactively identify and manage legal and commercial risk across the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Qualified Attorney with admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility)
  • Experience in construction, design & build, real estate, or complex commercial contracts
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience, particularly within project-based environments
  • Commercially minded with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Ability to work closely with non-legal stakeholders in a fast-paced, delivery-focused business

Base Pay Range

$170,000 - $200,000 USD
