Role and Responsibilities:
• Providing practical, risk-based guidance that enables business objectives while protecting the company.
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a broad range of marketing and promotional agreements, including agency agreements, sponsorship agreements, promotional partnership agreements, production services agreements, and vendor and technology agreements that support marketing initiatives.
• Reviewing and advising on consumer-facing digital and physical marketing materials, creative assets, press releases and other public communications, and counseling marketing and creative teams on advertising law compliance.
• Providing dedicated marketing legal counsel for NASB to support the successful execution of NASB and promotional and publicity efforts.
• Working collaboratively across the organizations to answer marketing-related questions, develop processes to drive coordination, and proactively provide legal guidance and manage risks while advancing business goals.
• Developing and maintaining marketing contract templates, legal playbooks, tools and guidance and performing regular trainings for the NASB Marketing organization.
• Managing and maintaining accurate tracking and transparency of legal reviews to ensure proper documentation of legal assessments and approvals, appropriate access controls, and timely escalation of critical legal matters to stakeholders.
Requirements:
• Excellent academic credentials, including a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission in good standing to a state bar.
• Minimum 5-10+ years of relevant experience, including in-house and/or law firm experience supporting marketing, advertising, media or consumer-facing businesses. Experience supporting marketing for a streaming platform is a plus.
• Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Knowledge of advertising law, FTC endorsement guidelines, consumer protection law, sweepstakes and contest compliance, intellectual property law relevant to marketing, rights of publicity, licensing principles.
• Passion for digital media and a genuine curiosity for emerging digital technology.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, high level of professionalism and solid business judgment. Ability to communicate legal issues in a clear and understandable manner.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, to set and adjust priorities, to work under pressure, and to maintain composure and a sense of humor while doing so.
• Ability to successfully manage aggressive deadlines while thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player, excellent negotiating skills, keen analytical abilities, a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and escalate matters appropriately to senior members of the team.
• Ability to work closely with business partners at all career levels and other team members such as Business, Finance, Product and our Headquarters in South Korea.
