Senior Vice President & General Counsel

Position Summary

The Budd Group is seeking a Senior Vice President & General Counsel to serve as our Chief Legal Officer and a key member of the executive leadership team. In this dual-purpose role, you will provide expert legal counsel and partner closely with the CEO to drive enterprise strategy, governance, risk management, and scalable organizational growth across a matrixed, multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team on corporate governance, operational alignment, and business-critical projects.

  • Legal Counsel: Oversee all organizational legal affairs, including commercial contracts, employment law, regulatory compliance, litigation, and vendor agreements.

  • Risk & Governance: Lead enterprise risk management, crisis response, and compliance frameworks to protect long-term organizational health.

  • Operational Excellence: Spearhead cross-functional, company-wide initiatives to improve operational standards, systems, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with an active license to practice law. Valid driver’s license required. Always mention GoInhouse.com when submitting your application.

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive legal experience (corporate law, employment law, commercial contracts, and litigation oversight).

  • Leadership: Prior General Counsel or senior in-house leadership experience is strongly preferred. Experience in multi-state, service-based, or founder-led businesses is highly advantageous.

  • Skills: Exceptional business acumen with the ability to balance legal risk with operational realities. Strong executive presence, negotiation, and matrixed leadership skills.
