Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Attorney to provide legal counsel and business support across a diverse portfolio of construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, real estate, and corporate operations. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, helping manage legal risk while supporting the company's continued growth and project execution nationwide.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction law and commercial contracting, with renewable energy experience considered a plus.
Responsibilities
Construction & Commercial Contracts
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a wide range of agreements, including:
- Construction and EPC contracts
- Subcontractor agreements
- Equipment procurement agreements
- Master service agreements
- Vendor and supplier contracts
- Professional services agreements
- Non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements
- Advise internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and dispute avoidance.
Corporate & Business Matters
- Provide legal support for corporate transactions, acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with corporate governance, entity management, and compliance matters.
- Support insurance, risk management, and claims activities.
Real Estate & Development
- Review and negotiate land purchase agreements, leases, easements, and related real estate documents.
- Support development and construction teams on permitting, land use, and project-related legal issues.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify legal and business risks and develop practical solutions.
- Manage litigation, claims, and disputes in coordination with outside counsel.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting company operations.
- Develop and maintain internal policies and compliance programs.
Qualifications
Required
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house corporate environment.
- Strong experience supporting construction-related projects, contracts, and disputes.
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering, or utility projects.
- Familiarity with EPC contracting and project development activities.
- In-house counsel experience supporting construction or energy companies.
- Knowledge of real estate, corporate governance, and risk management matters.
