Corporate Counsel, Special Projects
As a Corporate Counsel, Special Projects, you will serve as a primary attorney for an Amazon research & development function, and partner with your clients to develop, market, and distribute new-to-world products and services.

Key job responsibilities
- Identify legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies
- Advise on regulatory issues and overseeing compliance;
- Negotiate strategic agreements;
- Provide input on business strategy;
- Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and helping build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly
- Research and analyze complex legal questions of first impression, formulation and implementation of compliance programs, and administration and resolution of legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, including the handling of pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience with FDA regulatory law or energy sector regulation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience in private practice or in-house experience at a technology, energy, or life sciences company or clients
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
