Trial Attorney I
General Description
Represents the Texas Commission for Lawyer Discipline in attorney discipline proceedings before District Grievance Committees, District Courts, and the Board of Disciplinary Appeals. This position involves frequent contact with State Bar departments, as well as with outside agencies and organizations.
Primary Functions
Position Requirements
Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Texas and be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. A minimum of three years of litigation experience is preferred. Some experience in civil and/or criminal investigative work preferred. The position requires knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Evidence, Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, and Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure. Effective legal research and writing skills. Experience using Microsoft Word, Adobe, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, etc. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, coordinate workflow to meet mandatory deadlines, manage a large caseload and maintain a professional demeanor and appearance. This position requires occasional travel.
