We are searching for our next Labor and Employment Attorney, with California bar license preferred, or a bar license in OR, ID or another state. Open to candidates who live in WA, OR, ID, CA, UT, CO, or VA.

Work will involve advising Archbright’s members/clients, collective bargaining of labor contracts, training, among other duties.

Position summary: Advise Archbright’s member and client employers on their most complex labor and employment law compliance issues, as well as conduct workplace investigations and represent management in collective bargaining and labor hearings.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide efficient and accurate federal, state, and local employment law and labor law advice to both private and public sector employers of all sizes and industries, proactively identifying legal risks, developing mitigation strategies, drafting and revising various employment agreements, and ensuring compliance with employer objectives and the law.
  • Independently conduct thorough and unbiased fact-finding investigations into employers’ compliance concerns and complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other violations of employer policy and draft clear and concise reports regarding the results following Archbright investigation processes, resources, and training.
  • Under supervision of experienced negotiators, represent employers as the lead management negotiator in collective bargaining, including advising on legal responsibilities and best practices, developing bargaining strategies, and implementing those strategies by writing clear proposals and effectively communicating with union and employer representatives.
  • Provide expert advice, strategic guidance, and legal representation to employers in union contract disputes, grievances, labor arbitrations, and matters before the NLRB, EEOC, and state and local agencies.
  • Complete timely review of employer handbooks for compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, using Archbright guidelines and tools.
  • Create current and accurate employment and labor law content for training, public speaking, and Archbright’s mozzo platform, following brand guidelines. 
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Speak at public events on employment and labor law topics as subject matter expert.
  • Conduct employer onsite and public training in areas of labor and employment law.
