- Base Salary Range: Base compensation ranging from $200,000 - $300,000, commensurate with experience, plus an annual discretionary cash bonus and equity grant.

Sportradar seeks a strategic, business-minded legal leader to serve as Senior Counsel, Litigation and IP to be resident in its Manhattan offices. Reporting to the SVP, Senior Corporate Counsel and working closely with Sportradar’s Chief Legal Officer and integrated team, this high-impact leadership role is responsible for defining global litigation strategy, overseeing the Company's global litigation portfolio, and guiding the development and protection of Sportradar’s intellectual property.
Key Responsibilities
Global Litigation Leadership & Governance
Lead Sportradar’s global litigation portfolio, managing the full lifecycle of complex IP, commercial, and regulatory disputes. Define and execute proactive litigation strategies that balance risk with commercial objectives to maximize business outcomes.
Litigation Strategy & Operating Model
Design and operationalize a scalable, high-impact litigation management framework. Implement comprehensive systems—including early case assessment, standardized playbooks, and post-matter reviews—to drive efficiency, ensure consistent risk-based decision-making, and provide clear reporting to senior leadership.
Intellectual Property Leadership
Lead the strategic stewardship of Sportradar’s IP portfolio. Partner with technology and product leadership to ensure IP strategy is synchronized with product innovation. Drive an intelligent offensive and defensive IP strategy that secures and grows Sportradar’s competitive position.
Strategic Adaptability
Drive enterprise agility by proactively embracing evolving mandates beyond core litigation and IP functions, including contract drafting and negotiation across a range of commercial agreements and transactions. Partner with executive leadership to pivot legal focus and spearhead cross-functional strategic projects, ensuring the function remains seamlessly aligned with Sportradar’s dynamic business needs.
External Counsel Management
Manage a high-performing network of external counsel. Ensure legal spend is aligned with business value, implementing rigorous quality controls, budget discipline, and performance-based management to secure efficient, top-tier representation.
Process Optimization & Knowledge Management
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by standardizing legal processes and developing robust knowledge management tools. Streamline documentation workflows to reduce friction and enhance organizational agility across the global team.
Business Partnership
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. Integrate directly into commercial, product, and technology business units to translate complex legal and regulatory challenges into actionable business intelligence. Help to foster a culture where legal guidance is a catalyst for faster, smarter, and more confident business execution.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of high-level legal experience at a leading law firm or in-house, with a primary focus on complex litigation, technology and intellectual property matters.
- Extensive experience managing a global litigation docket and driving strategy for intellectual property disputes and commercial matters within a technology company.
- Demonstrated ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives and provide clear, actionable advice to senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Active New York State bar membership in good standing.

Additional Details
- Work Arrangement: This position will be resident in the Company’s Manhattan offices. While extensive travel is not anticipated, the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally, as necessary.
- Compensation: Base compensation ranging from $200,000 - $300,000, commensurate with experience, plus an annual discretionary cash bonus and equity grant.

- Job Leveling: This position will be structured as either a Director or Vice President, with the final title and level commensurate with the successful candidate's experience.
