Position Summary:

We are seeking a Patient Access/Financial Counseling Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising and directing all activities related to Guest Services, Registration, and Financial Counseling services. As requested, the Supervisor will oversee all activities related to these areas in the absence of the Director of Patient Access or Patient Access Manager. The Supervisor will be responsible for possessing expert knowledge of financial counseling and registration workflows and for point-of-service (POS) collections and communication with patients regarding financial assistance.

The Supervisor will evaluate the department to ensure the effective and efficient utilization of staff and resources and assures the proper and economical use of equipment, supplies, and facilities. The Supervisor will be responsible for broadening knowledge, promoting staff growth, and improving quality. The position adheres to service excellence standards, the Parkview Health Standards of Behavior, and works closely with Ancillary Department Supervisors/Managers and the Patient Access Manager to ensure efficient and effective workflows.

The Supervisor is on call and available to support the department on a 24/7 basis.

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in business, organizational leadership or healthcare administration

Licensure/Certification:

  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire (applicable only to assignments at Whitley, Warsaw, and Southwest locations).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of management/supervisory experience or the equivalent years of financial counseling or registration experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year in medical or related field.
  • Must have data processing/data entry experience and ability to use data hardware, including work experience using Microsoft Office.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must pass the required Patient Access Services training class with a 90% score, if not already completed.
