General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Our client, Onelife Fitness, has exclusively retained our firm to recruit its next General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. Help shape the future of one of the nation's fastest-growing fitness companies.

Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, Onelife Fitness is the Mid-Atlantic's fastest-growing affordable luxury fitness company, operating 70 clubs with plans to open 6–10 new locations annually. Backed by leading private equity firm, the company is executing an ambitious growth strategy and seeks a business-minded legal executive to help drive its next phase of expansion.

Reporting to senior leadership, the General Counsel will serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and Board of Directors, building and leading a modern legal function that enables growth while delivering practical, risk-based legal guidance. This is a highly strategic role for a lawyer who enjoys partnering with the business, solving complex problems, and helping organizations scale.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Advising executive leadership and the Board on legal, regulatory, and business matters.
• Building scalable legal processes, templates, and operating frameworks.
• Supporting commercial transactions, corporate governance, and strategic initiatives.
• Advising on real estate leasing and expansion strategy.
• Overseeing privacy, consumer protection, litigation, employment, and regulatory matters.
• Managing outside counsel and legal spend while driving efficient, business-focused solutions.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of significant experience in corporate, commercial transactions, and/or real estate is required, as is current tenure in an in-house legal department
• Experience supporting a consumer-facing business (e.g., hospitality, retail, health & wellness, etc.) is required
• Executive presence with outstanding business judgment and a pragmatic, commercial approach to legal counseling
