As a ATTORNEY-ADVISER (GENERAL) at the GS-0905-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- First professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) accredited by the American Bar Association; and
-Active membership in the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. (A copy of the applicant's bar card or letter from the bar may be acceptable evidence); and
- Professional legal experience in excess of 3 years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Qualification standards for attorney positions may be found in DoD Directive 1442.2, "Personnel Actions Involving Civilian Attorneys" at DoD Instruction 1442.02, September 30, 2010 (whs.mil) and include:

As a ATTORNEY-ADVISER (GENERAL) at the GS-0905-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serves as Associate General Counsel with a focus on Labor and Employment law counseling, FOIA, and other administrative law practice areas for Agency comprised of civilian, military, and contract personnel.
- Serves as an Ethics Counselor and advise on a broad array of standard of conduct issues, including conflicts of interests, acceptance of gifts, and use of funds for official courtesies.
- Represents the interests of DSCA before courts and administrative tribunals, including the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
- Provides legal support, advice, and counsel to DSCA staff under the guidance of the DSCA General Counsel and senior DSCA attorneys.
