Assistant General Counsel
Position Overview:
This position will manage legal matters and related projects as directed by the General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, structure, draft, review, and negotiate contracts for commercial transactions, including non-disclosure agreements, customer supply agreements, SaaS licensing agreements, vendor agreements in an effective, efficient and time-sensitive manner
- Improve contracting workflows, policies and procedures
- Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters
- Manage external counsel
- Provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice on legal topics that affect the business
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business
- Promote compliance and risk management best practices throughout the company
- Design and deliver legal training to the business units
- Maintain knowledge of organization's operations and legal documents
- Identify and escalate concerns (and solutions) to the General Counsel
- Organize and maintain legal department forms
- Identify and resolve legal issues and identify and help resolve business issues
- Serve as lead lawyer on cross-functional teams
- Participate in legal department meetings to provide updates on current matters
- As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company's recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices
- Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned

Required Skills and Competencies:
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years (or more) of relevant experience, including an in-house role
- Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Comprehensive commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment under tight timelines; able to multitask
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understand how to establish and maintain working relationships with C-level executives
- Outstanding judgment and legal reasoning
- Possess financial integrity; support a strong code of ethics in the workplace
- Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative, professional demeanor, creative and innovative
- Attention to detail; task-oriented, excellent organizational & time management skills
- Technical experience with Microsoft Office apps and other appropriate technology tools
Physical requirements and work environment:
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

- Sitting in an office chair
- Typing
- Reaching for the telephone
- Office environment is of moderate noise level
- Standing at office equipment
- Hearing or phone use
- Sight for computer use
