Compensation: $160,000 to $230,000 Annually

Position Summary

Nuna Baby Essentials is seeking an experienced, business-minded Senior Corporate Counsel or Legal Director to serve as a trusted advisor to the organization. This is a generalist role that will provide strategic guidance across a broad range of areas.

The successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders across Human Resources, Marketing, Product Development, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and affiliates to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice that supports Nuna's business objectives while protecting the organization's interests.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Counsel & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to leaders across the organization, providing practical, business-focused guidance on a broad range of legal, regulatory, and operational matters.
  • Provide timely and sound business decision-making through pragmatic risk assessment and solution-oriented advice.

Product Safety, Regulatory & Risk Management

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with business initiatives, products, operational practices, and organizational changes.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory requirements affecting consumer products, including product safety, labeling, advertising, distribution, and compliance obligations.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and provide guidance to ensure ongoing compliance across domestic and international operations.
  • Provide strategic advice on compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Help guide and enhance policies, procedures, and best practices that support overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Support corporate governance activities, entity management, and other matters as needed.
  • Assist with employee training on legal, regulatory, compliance, and ethical business matters.
  • Manage and coordinate outside counsel to ensure effective, high-quality, and cost-efficient legal representation.
  • Support litigation, dispute resolution, and pre-litigation matters as they arise.

Intellectual Property & Brand Protection

  • Assist in protecting and enforcing the Company's intellectual property assets, proprietary information, and brand rights.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and outside counsel on intellectual property matters.

Contracts & Operational Support

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret agreements necessary to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate with global affiliates and business partners on legal projects, operational initiatives, and cross-border matters.

Culture & Leadership

  • Foster a diverse, inclusive, and ethical corporate culture consistent with Nuna's values and leadership principles.
  • Lead and develop a team of professionals to assist with execution of business strategies and maintaining business and cultural integrity.

Requirements and Qualifications

Experience, Knowledge & Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school required
  • Active bar membership in good standing and eligible to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction
  • 10 to 15 years of combined law firm and in-house legal or equivalent experience
  • Broad legal generalist experience with emphasis in compliance, intellectual property, product liability, employment, and litigation
  • Experience in consumer product manufacturing a plus
  • Experience working within a multinational organization highly desirable
  • Judicial clerkship experience is a plus

  • Ability to identify risks, exercise sound judgment, and balance legal considerations with business priorities

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal audiences, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong executive presence, professionalism, and integrity
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
  • Self-starter with a commitment to continuous improvement

Other

  • Proficiency in English required
  • Mandarin language skills are a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary to support business objectives and global operation
