Assistant City Attorney I - City of Rochester
Job Posting
This position provides professional legal services on behalf of the City under the direction of the City Attorney or Deputy City Attorney. Responsibilities include prosecuting criminal offenses within the jurisdiction of the City of Rochester and the City Attorney’s Office, conducting legal research, preparing and maintaining criminal case files, and providing legal advice or opinions to City officials and other authorized individuals. In addition to criminal prosecution, this position may have opportunities to assist with select civil projects or specialized civil legal matters.
Graduation from an accredited law school recognized under the Rules of the Minnesota Supreme Court with a Juris Doctor degree. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for immediate licensure to practice law in the State of Minnesota.
Individuals who sat for the July 2026 Minnesota Bar Exam are welcome to apply. Proof of a passing bar exam score must be provided by October 5, 2026.
