Job Description
Provides administrative support for Corporate Counsel. Composes letters and other documents with high degree of accuracy. Maintains highly confidential files and correspondence. Performs general administrative functions with great attention to detail. Maintains departmental workflow for multiple projects and documents. Answers and directs phone calls. Assists with miscellaneous projects when necessary.Location: Remote
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs various administrative functions including, but not limited to, answering and redirecting phone calls, typing, copying, scanning, filing, faxing, delivering and routing mail.
- Proofread prepared materials for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, syntax, and content.
- Create, update and maintain departmental files (electronic and paper). Includes saving files and logging events in department database.
- Composes, prepares, maintains, and distributes word processing documents, spreadsheets, graphs, presentations, reports and other department documents with an emphasis on accuracy and understanding of legal terminology.
- Prepare other legal documents and files as necessary to support in-house legal counsel.
- Provide back-up assistance to others in the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Exceptionally detail oriented to produce extremely accurate work.
- Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology.
- Thorough knowledge and skills using personal computers (Windows) with strong emphasis on Word, Adobe, and Excel.
- Proficient use of the Internet to gather/research information.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Competency working in a multi-task environment.
- Courteous and professional oral and written communication skills with coworkers, various levels of management, and business contacts; emphasis on proper English and correct grammar usage.
- Capable of independently identifying, researching, and resolving problems.
- Comfortable with routine tasks and working in a quiet, structured environment.
- Basic mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Work overtime as the departmental needs may require.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree in paralegal or legal administrative assisting OR high school diploma/equivalent with a minimum of three years’ legal assisting and/or administrative experience.
- Notary Certification a plus.
Hourly Rate: $18.76-$34.70
Hourly rate may be determined on several factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographical location and requirements stated in job description.
