JOB TITLE:
Associate General Counsel II/Grants & Contracts Administrator
JOB PURPOSE:
The Associate General Counsel II/Grants & Contracts Administrator will serve as a member of the Office of General Counsel (OGC) and the Compliance, Proposals, Agreements & Strategic Services Office (COMPASS), under the Research and Economic Development Division (REDD). The position’s primary responsibility will consist of efficiently and timely reviewing, negotiating, processing, and managing the formal University acceptance of sponsored project awards including grants, cooperative agreements and contracts for the University community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft, negotiate, and review terms and conditions with federal, state, and private entities on University sponsored projects agreements.
- Provide written and verbal communications with various internal and external parties to ensure the timely and accurate review, negotiation, and acceptance of agreements.
- Provide customer service to all campus users.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on sponsored project agreements.
- Work collaboratively within OGC and REDD as well as with the University department administrators, principal investigators, and Technology Transfer Office to answer questions, resolve issues, and interpret agreement provisions and terms.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve on committees and perform other duties as assigned by OGC and Pre-Award Services Office.
- Attend conferences and workshops applicable to research administration and legal updates and trends within contract administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION: J.D. from ABA accredited law school
- EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney
- LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Member in good standing of the Wyoming Bar Association or who will be admitted to the Wyoming Bar within 12 months of employment.

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
Experience Evaluation
Experience requirements are evaluated on a full-time equivalent (FTE) basis. Relevant part-time experience will be prorated based on hours worked. For example, two years working an average of 20 hours per week is equivalent to approximately one year of full-time experience.
Applicants must include the average hours worked per week for all current and previous positions. Failure to provide this information may affect the evaluation of qualifications.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Research and analytical skills.
- 2 years translatable work-experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience includes contract negotiation or working in research or sponsored programs administration at an institution of higher education.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Certified Research Administrator, CRA, CPRA or CFRA.

WORK LOCATION:
On-Campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States, as sponsorship for any work authorization or work visas is not available for this position.
