Assistant Vice President & Assistant General Counsel
Princeton Legal Search Group has been engaged on an exclusive basis by Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc. in New Jersey to lead the search for an experienced commercial litigator for the position of Assistant Vice President and Assistant General Counsel.
Hartz is one of the largest private owners of commercial real estate in the United States and has portfolio properties in major East Coast markets, including Chicago, Charlotte and Atlanta. The AGC will be responsible for handling various aspects of the company’s litigation practice, including representing the company in court, and overseeing outside counsel where appropriate.
Candidates must have at least 3 years of hands-on litigation experience including drafting complaints, answers to complaints, motions (including summary judgment motions), briefs, discovery requests (requests for documents, interrogatories). Experience taking and defending depositions is preferred. Ideal candidates will have experience with one or more of the following: litigating real estate matters, landlord-tenant issues, or bankruptcy matters. Appellate experience is also desirable. A knowledge of real estate or coursework in property is a plus. Candidates must have a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
Compensation: Base salary $175,000-$225,000 + bonus and significant benefits. The final salary will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, training, skills, competencies, and experience.
Requires 5 days a week in office in Secaucus New Jersey
