SUMMARY

Hulu is looking for a transactions attorney with broad-based marketing and digital media advertising experience, including, specifically, experience drafting and negotiating agreements relating to the purchase, measurement and optimization of media across various channels (affiliate, partnership, display, mobile, social, and programmatic). The right person for this role will have strong transactional skills and attention to detail and an understanding of the latest developments in internet advertising and best practices for marketers. WHAT YOU’LL DO

This position will involve counseling Hulu’s marketing teams on a variety of campaigns and marketing efforts, with a focus on supporting the media and subscriber acquisition teams. This includes drafting and negotiating agreements with media buying agencies, affiliate networks, publishers, social media networks, ad networks and platforms, technology and software as a service (SAAS) providers and vendors who provide marketing solutions including for analytics, attribution and optimizations. This person will also advise on and support a variety of marketing partnerships and promotions which will include negotiating agreements with strategic partners and vetting marketing materials and offer copy.

In addition, this person will counsel Hulu’s social media, content marketing, brand marketing, video production, PR and events teams and may be asked to help review creative agency agremeents, production and event agreements, music licenses, UGC campaigns, influencer campaigns, experiential marketing, native advertising and custom content campaigns, promotions, sweepstakes and contests, talent agreements and releases.

Keeping up to speed on the latest developments in marketing and internet advertising laws, rules and self-regulatory principles applicable to an internet and media company including the standards set forth by the FTC, DAA, NAI and IAB is an important component of the job.

WHAT TO BRING

Ideal candidates will have experience supporting marketing teams at an internet, technology and/or media company

Juris Doctorate degree from a top tier law school

4-8 years of total legal experience

At least 3 years of relevant in-house (or comparable law firm) transactional experience and substantial understanding of the online advertising and marketing space as well as relevant federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations

Candidates who developed their transactional skills at a nationally-recognized law firm will be highly preferred

Familiarity with insertion orders and IAB terms and conditions for digital advertising

Meaningful experience in other relevant areas such as intellectual property and privacy is a plus

NICE-TO-HAVES

Familiarity with ad tech and use of data for marketing campaigns (e.g., use of beacons, cookies and cookie alternatives across devices, programmatic technologies and matching of datasets)
