Summary


The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, including master services agreements, statements of work, amendments, vendor agreements, RFP responses and supporting documentation and other contracts to support the company’s business and for developing and maintaining contract templates, business and legal processes, and internal policies to help scale the business. The Corporate Counsel will also be responsible for other legal services and advice as needed based on Symphony Talent’s diverse and evolving needs. As a high growth tech company, we are buying services, software and support galore -- and happily, we are selling even more, mostly to the Fortune 1000 companies that we’re proud to call our customers.

Beyond that, Symphony Talent faces a variety of legal issues that you would expect at a high growth SaaS company. From intellectual property to regulatory compliance, human resources to content review and privacy to data security, to name just a few -- legal is a critical partner in running and managing our business.

What Skills and Experience Should You Have?

Graduate of an accredited U.S. law school and currently licensed to practice law in your state of residence.

At least four years of experience as a commercial transactions attorney in private practice, in-house or preferably a mix of both.

Significant experience drafting, negotiating and closing a large volume and variety of transactions, including numerous complex deals simultaneously while balancing appropriate legal and business risks.

Substantial negotiation experience with software and technology sales transactions, business development and professional services.

Experience working with cross functional teams (Finance, Marketing, IT Security, HR, etc.) to improve processes and increase efficiency and productivity.

Ability to stay cool under pressure and manage a high-volume workload without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.

Positive attitude to foster teamwork and develop strong partnerships with internal and external clients and company executives to achieve successful business outcomes.

Ability to interpret and explain contractual terms and conditions and legal principles to business people and customers.

An abundance of charm. People do business with people they like, and we need to be genuinely likeable even when negotiating tough deal points.

Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with both customers and coworkers in a way that is clear, concise, and engaging. Your coworkers should see you as an asset to the team, not a roadblock.

Experience supporting Sales, Client Strategy and Product teams strongly preferred.

Knowledge and experience in data privacy laws and related regulations preferred.

Experience working remotely from a home office a plus.
