US Chief Legal Officer

Our client, a global cryptocurrency exchange, is seeking to hire a Chief Legal Officer to support the platform’s expansion in the US market. Reporting to the CEO of the US, specific responsibilities include developing a legal and regulatory strategy; managing internal and external resources, participating in industry associations, and serving as an advocate for Crypto regulation. The ideal candidate will be experienced in – and passionate about – the business and regulation of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and financial technology. 10+ years of experience in regulated payment services, financial services institution, or fintech firm in the US or in a law firm supporting such clients is required. The position will leverage a strong knowledge in US financial services regulations, corporate, data and consumer protection laws and an understanding of blockchain and cryptocurrency regulation.

The role is based in New York City, with the possibility of remote work.
